Gutter Installation in Huntsville, AL

Five Points, Blossomwood, Twickenham

The tree canopy over those streets is the best thing about them and the worst thing about their gutters. Mature hardwoods drop an absurd amount of material, pollen in spring and then leaves into November, and a lot of those houses are still on spike-hung 5-inch gutter. You can spot it from the street: the run sags in the middle and pulls away from the fascia at the ends.

For those homes the conversation is usually 6-inch with stainless micro-mesh guards, because nobody wants to be on a ladder over a sloped lot twice a year.

The other half of town

Newer subdivisions have the reverse problem. Large roof areas, steep pitches, and the fewest downspouts the builder could get away with. You do not notice until a hard rain, and then it sheets over the front lip at the valleys and cuts a line in the mulch.

That is a sizing problem, not a clog. Cleaning it will not fix it.

Rain here is not average

Huntsville averages 54.3 inches a year against a national average near 38. That is the honest reason 6-inch gutters and a correct downspout count matter more here than they would somewhere drier.
