Seamless Gutters in Harvest, AL

Houses out here are not Huntsville houses

Lots are bigger out here and roof runs are longer. A long uninterrupted run is exactly where seamless matters. Sixty feet of sectional gutter has five joints in it, and every one is a future drip. We roll that in one piece.

The other thing out here is outbuildings. Barndominiums, shops and detached garages get skipped at build time constantly, and then the owner spends two years watching runoff carve a trench along the slab.

Where the water goes matters as much as the gutter

A gutter only moves water to the downspout. After that it is up to grading. When a downspout discharges right at the corner of a slab, the water tends to sit instead of leaving. We look at where yours let out, and if the runoff is landing against your foundation we will tell you — a perfect gutter emptying at the slab has not solved anything.

Growth brought a lot of builder-grade gutter

Harvest has been putting up subdivisions since well before the Mazda Toyota plant brought a few thousand more jobs into the area. Plenty of those homes came with the cheapest gutter package the builder could spec: 5-inch, minimum downspouts. It holds until a hard spring storm, and then it comes over the front edge.

If that is what you are watching happen, the fix is usually 6-inch with the downspout count corrected — not a repair.
